Seismic compliance of industrial prefabricated buildings consists of designing a series of organic interventions to make the structure reach the safety levels prescribed by the technical regulations on constructions (N.T.C. 2018) for new buildings.

The Standard mandatorily prescribes this type of intervention whenever it is necessary to raise the building; expand the structure with works that modify its behavior during a seismic event; make changes in intended use with increases in foundation loads greater than 10%; carry out structural interventions that transform the construction through the use of new vertical load-bearing elements on which at least 50% of the total gravitational loads referring to individual floors rest; make changes in use class that lead to class III constructions for school use or class IV.

The seismic improvement of industrial prefabricated buildings, unlike seismic compliance, focuses on increasing the structural safety of the building by raising it at least 10% compared to the current state of the property.

This can be achieved through the use of different techniques and technologies such as the installation of seismic devices like seismic energy dissipation systems Jawfix® and seismic isolation between the elevated structure and prefabricated panel infills Alldrift® and with structural reinforcement.
