Benedetti Palmiro SpA – Photovoltaic System and Roof Renovation

An intervention has just been completed in Arezzo (AR) on the factory of jewelry manufacturer Benedetti Palmiro SpA which involved the installation of a new photovoltaic system with 209.84 kWp of power for the factory, along with the renovation of approximately 2100 sq meters of roofing.

A project planned and designed by Manini Service, which focused on one of their own production buildings constructed in 1992 with double-slope main beams. The building has been renovated and equipped with state-of-the-art installations for photovoltaic electricity production to extend and enhance its functionality. The system was designed and sized for the roof to meet the Client’s self-consumption needs, in compliance with current industry regulations.

Thanks to the full understanding of the construction technology, supported by information from the company’s well-stocked archives, Manini Service accompanied the client throughout the entire implementation process: from planning to design, to the execution of roof renovation works and installation of a new photovoltaic system, while also proposing possible economic incentives available for this particular intervention.

The reliability and competence of Manini Service in approaching the project were rewarding attitudes for renewing the trust agreement with the client, becoming the single point of contact for all the works to be carried out.

Identifying the presence of asbestos-containing fiber cement sheets, the client was enabled to access workplace safety grants.

The solution, designed by Manini Service, involved replacing the existing asbestos-cement sheets and insulation with insulated metal panels, whose weight, combined with that of the photovoltaic panels, would not alter the seismic response of the existing prefabricated structure. Connections and technological elements in pre-painted galvanized sheet metal were designed to make the roofing functional for accommodating the new photovoltaic system. Precisely for this purpose and with a view to future maintenance to be carried out on both the building and the system, a permanent fall protection system was installed on the roof to allow working safely.

Thanks to the organization of the work, and a preliminary schedule already planned during negotiations, it was possible to start the work as soon as the client had access to funding.

Manini Service, through supply planning and detailed coordination of the workforce, was able to complete the work in full compliance with the agreed timeframes with the client.
