WHAT IS ALLDRIFT®
AllDrift® is a patented seismic isolation system between monolithic infill walls (prefabricated reinforced concrete panels) and main earthquake-resistant structures, necessary to preserve their connection when subjected to seismic motions of different frequency and amplitude.
It is the only sliding connection specifically designed for prefabricated structures and certified according to UNI EN 15129, as prescribed by the recent NTC 2018 regulations.
IN SUMMARY
The device ensures the sliding of the carriage to which the structure is connected along the plane of the panel and is designed to function even with macroscopic assembly defects thanks to its adaptive capabilities.
The sliding capabilities are guaranteed by PTFE (Teflon) blocks and a series of adaptive hinge joints, which control the crushing actions of the PTFE blocks and the over-stresses in the anchors of the entire system.
The tests conducted at the Manini Prefabbricati facility with the proprietary Vibrodyna have shown an excellent response of the system, which ensured complete disconnection of motion between structures and panels with differential displacements exceeding 20 cm.
EXAMPLES OF ALLDRIFT® INSTALLATIONS
AllDrift® adapts to vertical seismic stresses by rotating around its pins and can be mounted with parallelism defects along the sliding axis. The adaptation capabilities are allowed by the relative sliding between the jaws and the bracket, made possible by the use of special disc springs and controlled by appropriate tightening.
